Mike Ehl

Student Ministries Intern

Tell us about yourself:
I am 21 years old and I go to school at Mira Costa. I also work at CVS part-time. I’ve been going to NCPC since I was in about 6th grade. I truly accepted the Lord into my heart when I was a freshman in High School on an NCPC Student Ministries Mexico outreach trip. I began working here at the church right after I graduated from High School at SDA.

What do you do as Student Ministries Intern?
What do I do here... Ummmmm whatever Mike Forrest asks me to do so I don’t get fired. But seriously as the Student Intern I hang out with students: go to lunch with them, talk to them, watch movies whatever they want to do. I also speak in the Dome as well as run the soundboard and power point, and co-program our Jr. and Sr. High Ministries.

What is the best part of your job?
Seeing the students actually get what God is teaching them, and developing a true relationship with the Lord.

What are the five most important books you have read?
The Bible
by Jesus
The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning
Wild at Heart by John Eldridge
The Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers
The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManus

What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I wasn’t so musically challenged. I wish I could actually play guitar or drums or even the piano and have it sound good.

What is your favorite movie quote?

“FREEEEDDDOOOMMMM!!!!” Braveheart

What do you order at Starbucks?
Apple juice; coffee is gross.

What food do you absolutely love? What food do you hate?
I love sandwiches; they are delicious. As far as food I hate I would have to go with squid; its chewy, its weird.

What’s something interesting that no one knows happened to you?
When I was about 10 I got a phone call from a hockey team in Las Vegas that asked me to play goalie for them. They paid for my trip out there because they had heard about me and they needed a goalie. We ended up flying to Atlanta for the championships. We didn’t win but it was an experience of a lifetime.
