Tell us about yourself:

I am married to Henry Michel and have one son Rick and two stepchildren, Mark and Diane.  In my leisure time, I enjoy playing the piano, going to the theatre, physical fitness and reading.   Prior to taking on the director role in children’s ministry, I taught Sunday school for many years and served NCPC in a leadership capacity facilitating long-range planning efforts for the church and conducting staff leadership training courses.  While in the business marketplace, I defined and implemented Information Technology solutions, business change initiatives, performed due diligence for business acquisition, and integrated merged companies systems across multiple states and countries.   I hold a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, and two Associates degrees.

What do you do as Director of Children’s Ministry?

I oversee the Lighthouse Children’s ministry for infants through sixth graders.  More than anything, I want the kids to learn how much God loves them and how very important each one is in His eyes.  It is of foremost importance that the kids have a safe environment while at the same time are having lots of fun participating in creative, Christ-centered activities.  I continually strive to make our children’s ministry a place where kids are free to ask questions, feel welcome, make friends, and learn to give to others.
