Joni Wallman

Director of Member Care and Women's Ministries

Tell us about yourself:
I get a kick out of simply being God's kid and marvel in His unconditional Love and purposes for me.  I am also the "luckiest" wife and mom on this planet and can't thank the Lord enough for lavishing me with such tender love and kindness through my beautiful family and friends!  Reading, writing, laughter, travel, exploring nature, Sudoku, Mexican Train Dominos and sharing a meal with loved ones are a few of my favorite things.

What do you do as Director of Member Care and Women's Ministries?
I give oversight to the 1a) Member Care of our church family in coordination with NCPC staff, leadership and church members via visitation, prayer, counsel, meals, and transportation 1b) Assimilation of our church family into small group ministries that build community and develop personal faith, spiritual gifting & service to others  2) Women's Ministries which offers Bible study fellowship groups, leadership development/involvement, service and special outreach events such as our Friendship Dinners and Fall Retreat.

What is the best part of your job?
I am a "His-story junkie" and thrill to see how God is supernaturally weaving His Divine Purposes into people's lives.   I especially enjoy helping others grow in Christ's Love, Joy, Truth and unique "calling" through Bible-based teaching, fellowship, prayer and counsel.

What are the five most important books you have read?
Hmmmmm, besides the The Bible...

The Dangerous Duty of Delight - John Piper
The Sacred Romance - Charles Eldredge & Brent Curtis
The Problem of Pain - C.S. Lewis
Leadership is an Art - Max DePree
Messy Spirituality: God's Annoying Love for Imperfect People - Mike Yaconelli
and one more...
The Grasshopper Trap - Patrick F. McManus

What is your favorite movie quote?
"I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure!"  Eric Liddel in Chariots of Fire

What food do you absolutely love?  My mom's amazing chicken paprika over rice and for dessert, mud pie...yummmm!

What food do you hate?  I have to agree with Linda Michel, lima beans...what was God thinking?
